Dr. Juan Gonzalez
Dr. Juan Gonzalez is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon here in Irving. In more than two decades, he’s practiced full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, including complex dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom tooth extractions, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma repair, dental implants, facial cosmetic surgery, and temporomandibular joint surgery.
Dr. Gonzalez is also board-certified in anesthesia and highly trained in all aspects of anesthesia. He has performed over 15,000 moderate to deep sedation and general anesthesia cases. For the last several years, he’s concentrated solely on full arch surgery (All on X) procedures, especially severe bone loss cases requiring special techniques like zygomatic, pterygoid, and trans nasal implants.
He’s one of the most experienced zygomatic and pterygoid specialists in the world. He’s been recognized as a ZYGOPRO; only 32 surgeons worldwide have had this recognition.
Dr. Gonzalez also travels nationally and internationally, lecturing and teaching advanced dental implant techniques. He has developed several treatment protocols and contributed chapters to several books and magazines. He is an editorial member of the Journal of Implants and Advanced Clinical Dentistry, one of the largest and most prestigious dental journals.
Dr. Juan Gonzalez was born in Spain and raised in Puerto Rico. After finishing dental school, he completed a one-year hospital-based General Practice Residency and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army.
While in the Army, Dr. Gonzalez completed his four-year Oral and Maxillofacial residency training at Brooke Army Medical Center. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and, after 12 years of active duty, transferred to the Air Force Reserves, where he retired with over 20 years of combined service. While in the Air Force, Dr Gonzalez served as the Chief of Professional Services, directly supervising 6 physicians, and was faculty of the oral and maxillofacial surgery program.
Dr. Gonzalez is a highly sought-after educator that has trained dozens of surgery residents and dentists all over the world. When not caring for patients, he remains active by traveling with his wife and three daughters, flying, shooting, hunting, wakeboarding, running half marathons barefoot, and drinking wine with friends.
