Make Your New Smile More Affordable

When we talk to our patients about the cost of dental implants, one of the first things they ask is, “Will my insurance cover my treatment?” In some cases, the answer is a resounding yes! Our team welcomes PPO dental insurance policies, and we can sometimes get approval for medical insurance to cover our services as well! Continue reading below to learn more about how we can help you maximize your benefits.

How Dental Insurance Works

Dental insurance covers many services that you typically receive at your general dentist’s office. For example, it may completely cover the cost of services like cleanings and checkups. It may also cover 50 – 80% of the cost of treatments like fillings, crowns, and traditional dentures.

Dental coverage for dental implants and All-on-4 can vary greatly depending on the insurance company. Some plans cover around 50% of the cost of dental implants, up to the amount of the plan’s annual spending maximum. Other plans do not cover the implants themselves, but they might help you pay for preparatory procedures, such as gum disease treatment or tooth extractions.

Keep in mind that your plan is likely to have additional stipulations and fees, such as a deductible and a waiting period before you can receive coverage for certain services.

What Is the Difference Between Dental & Medical Insurance?

Whereas dental insurance has a strong focus on prevention, medical insurance is more geared toward systemic health and major procedures. Some health plans cover dental implants, including the All-on-4 procedure, if they are deemed medically necessary. Our team is highly skilled at determining medical necessity, so even if you do not think you qualify for coverage, it would still be worth your time to find out for sure!

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network

If you have a PPO dental or health plan, we are eager to help you maximize your benefits, regardless of whether or not we are in your insurance network.

In-Network Coverage

If a practice is in-network with your insurance, it means they have a contract that manages prices and encourages a specific level of care.  Here at Radiance Dental Implant Center, we are often able to help patients obtain in-network benefits through their BlueCross BlueShield health insurance plan.

Even if we are not in your insurance network, you may still be able to use your benefits in our practice. We can verify how your plan works, file claims on your behalf, and more. You may get to enjoy many of the same perks that you would at an in-network practice. Remember, the most important thing is to place your care in the hands of a skilled team whom you truly trust with your smile.
