All-on-Four Dental
Implant Treatment

It can be extremely upsetting to lose a complete arch of teeth, but it is something that is faced by many people. If you are missing a complete arch of teeth, or several teeth in a row, an implant-supported denture can frequently be the optimal solution to restore your smile, providing you with attractive and functional teeth. With this option, it isn’t necessary to have multiple dental implants to support a large bridge or a complete arch of teeth. Instead, Dr. Mounir Iskandar can use an advanced technique called All Teeth on 4 Dental Implants, providing all the treatment needed in his Irving, TX, dental office.  Using this solution, your denture can be held firmly in place with as few as four or six dental implants. You will be able to enjoy your beautiful new teeth after just a single visit. To find out more or to schedule your appointment, contact Radiance Dentistry today.

Supporting Your New Teeth with
All-on-Four Dental Implants

One particular technique that can be enormously helpful when replacing a full arch of teeth is to use it procedure called All-on-Four. With this highly specialized technique, just 4 to 6 dental implants are required to secure a complete arch of teeth. People wishing to secure an upper arch of teeth may need six dental implants, but this is still far fewer than would be required for conventional dental implant treatment. This is possible due to the positioning of the teeth which maximizes the use of healthy jawbone. Often we can supply a temporary denture that will be secured to the dental implants on the same day as treatment.

What Are the Benefits of
All-on-Four Dental Implant Treatment?

This treatment provides several benefits and is especially good for people who do not have a great deal of healthy jawbone. Using fewer implants posts requires less healthy bone, while discomfort is minimized and recovery times are quicker compared to traditional implants surgery. Usually, with All Teeth on 4 Dental implants treatment, it is possible for Dr. Iskandar to attach teeth to the implants on the day of surgery. The potential benefits to oral health can be significant. Dental implants bond strongly with the jawbone, restoring stimulation and preventing further bone loss that naturally occurs after teeth are lost. One of the main benefits of this treatment is its affordability, as the fewer number of implants is reflected in the price. It’s also an excellent treatment for people who may have previously investigated dental implants only to find out they require a bone graft.

Due to the positioning of the dental implants, bone grafting is normally unnecessary for All-on-Four dental implant treatment. This is because the dental implants are inserted in the front of the jawbone where the bone tends to be naturally thicker and stronger. Two of the implants are inserted vertically right at the front of the jaw while the remaining two are inserted either side but these are angled backward.

By tilting these implants backward, Dr. Iskandar is able to use slightly longer dental implant posts. This is an advantage as a longer post will have greater contact with the surrounding bone, increasing Osseo integration which is the process where new bone cells grow on and around the post. This, in turn, will increase the stability and strength of the dental implants, which is why so few are required to secure a complete arch of teeth.

Another really nice thing about this treatment is that we can generally supply you with a new temporary set of teeth on the same day as your surgery. We know patients are often concerned they will be left without teeth during dental implant treatment and we want to reassure you that this will not happen.

What Is the Procedure
for All-on-Four?

Dr. Iskandar will carefully plan the surgery before you come to our dental practice in Irving, TX. He will use your digital dental x-rays and your cone beam CT scan to pinpoint the placement of each dental implant to the nearest millimeter. A surgical guide or template is made to these exact measurements and will be used during implant placement.

Firstly, Dr. Iskandar will numb the area before making a small incision into the gums to insert each dental implant. By using computer guided surgery, Dr. Iskandar can insert each implant more accurately and more quickly, so the actual surgical procedure will be smoother and more comfortable for you. The next step is to attach your temporary teeth that will be used while the implants heal.

Once the implants are in place they will need time to fuse or Osseo integrate with the surrounding bone. This normally takes 3 to 4 months, and once healing is complete, you can return to Radiance Dentistry to receive your beautiful new teeth.
