Whether due to poor oral hygiene, dental accidents, or other reasons, patients can sometimes find themselves experience side effects of missing several teeth. While there are several treatment options available to resolve this issue, the most long-lasting and durable option is All-on-4® Dental Implants.
If you’re considering receiving these implants, here’s what you can expect the process to look like.
DETERMINING IF YOU ARE A CANDIDATE
First and foremost, your dentist will determine if you are a viable candidate for dental implants. You may be a good candidate for All-on-4®’s if you have:
- Advanced periodontal disease.
- Had a significant number of tooth infections.
- Had significant problems with your bite that causes pain and potential damage.
ADMINISTERING ANESTHESIA
Since receiving dental implants is a surgery, you will be put under general anesthesia by our Anesthesiologist.
ALL-ON-4 DENTAL IMPLANTS PROCESS
First, we take a CT scan of your mouth and discuss what would be the best dental treatment for your mouth. With All-on-4®’s, you will either have four or six implants placed into your mouth per arch, this depends on various factors. After removing the damaged teeth and placing the implants into your mouth. You will get your temporary implant-supported fixed bridge which you will normally wear for about 3-6 months to allow for proper healing to take place. After this time, you will have your temporary bridge removed and replaced with your final implant fixed bridge.
